Happy Paws US Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Happy Paws LLC, doing business as Happy Paws US ("Happy Paws US," "we," "us" or "our"), operates the website www.happypawsus.com and our online store (together, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to information we collect through the Services, when you contact us, and when you buy from us. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that we do not control.
Key points
We collect the information you give us (for example, when you reserve or buy a kitten), information collected automatically when you visit, and information from our partners.
A fraud- and bot-prevention service runs on every visit to protect the site and our customers, whatever cookie choice you make.
Only if you click Accept, we and our advertising partners (Google, Meta and OpenAI) use analytics and advertising technologies. Some U.S. state laws treat this as a "sale" of personal data or "targeted advertising." You can decline in the cookie banner, use the Your Privacy Choices link at the bottom of every page, or turn on Global Privacy Control.
We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data.
You can ask to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information by emailing info@happypawsus.com.

• Payment and financing information: payments are processed by Shopify and our payment processors. We do not store full card numbers. If you apply for financing ("Adopt Now, Pay Later"), our financing provider collects your application information under its own privacy policy and tells us whether financing is approved.
• Communications: messages you send us by chat, email, phone or web forms, and reviews you post.
• Device and online identifiers: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, language, time zone, screen size, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies.
• Device signals used for fraud prevention: technical characteristics of your browser and device (for example, graphics and audio capabilities, fonts, hardware and browser settings), used to create a device identifier that helps recognize bots and fraudulent activity.
• Browsing and usage information: pages and products you view, items added to your cart, the site that referred you, time spent on the site, and how you interact with pop-ups and forms.
• Approximate location: your general location (such as city or region) derived from your IP address, and map coordinates derived from your shipping address for fraud checks.
Page 1• Inferences: if you allow marketing technologies, limited inferences about your interests that our advertising partners use to show you relevant ads.
Sensitive personal data. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data, such as health information, precise geolocation, government identification numbers or biometric data. Please do not send us this information.
2. Where We Get Personal Information
• Directly from you: when you create an account, place a reservation or order, sign an agreement, sign up for emails, chat with us or contact us.
• Automatically: from your browser or device when you use the Services, through cookies, pixels and similar technologies (see Section 4 and our Cookie Policy).
• From service providers and partners: for example, our fraud-prevention, payment and financing providers, and our advertising and analytics partners.
3. How We Use Personal Information
• To provide the Services: to process reservations, deposits, orders and payments; prepare and sign agreements; arrange delivery or pickup; manage your account; and provide customer support.

• For email marketing: to send news and offers by email if you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email. We do not send marketing text messages.

• For security and fraud prevention: to detect and block bots, fraud, abuse and other harmful activity, and to protect our customers, our business and the Services.
• For legal reasons: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms and protect our rights.
We do not use personal information for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
We do not use personal information to train artificial intelligence or large language models.
4. Cookies, Pixels and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, browser storage and similar technologies. When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you Accept, Decline or Manage preferences.
• Essential technologies always run because the site cannot operate or stay secure without them. They include our fraud- and bot-prevention service (Blockify), which runs on every visit regardless of your cookie choice, uses first-party cookies and browser storage that can last up to 2 years, and sends periodic requests while you are on the site.
• Analytics and marketing technologies (Google, Meta, OpenAI and email-marketing tracking) run only after you click Accept, and stop if you Decline.
• Email sign-up form: our email provider's sign-up form may record whether the form was shown or closed before you make a cookie choice. Browsing activity is linked to your email profile only if you accept. Details of each technology, its purpose and how long it lasts are in our Cookie Policy.
5. How We Disclose Personal Information
We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:
• Platform and service providers that operate the Services for us: Shopify (website hosting, checkout, payments and Shop Pay); Klaviyo (email marketing); Kommo (customer messaging); SignPanda (electronic signatures); Cloudflare and website widget providers; workflow tools such as Shopify Flow and Mechanic; and shipping and pet transport providers.
• Fraud-prevention provider: Blockify and its sub-processors, which perform IP address checks (VPN, proxy and location), shipping address geocoding, error monitoring and order alert emails.
• Financing provider: Credova, if you apply for financing.
• Advertising and analytics partners (only if you click Accept): Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Merchant Center, through the Google & YouTube channel and the Google Ads Pixel by Nabu app); Meta (Facebook and Instagram, through the Meta Pixel and Conversions API); and OpenAI (advertising, through the Pixel for OpenAI Ads app).
• Creators and affiliates: if you arrive through a creator's referral link, Shopify Collabs records the referral so the creator can be credited.
• Others: professional advisers; government authorities when required by law; a buyer or successor in a merger, sale or reorganization; and anyone else with your consent or at your direction.
What advertising partners receive. If you click Accept, our advertising partners may receive the pages and products you view, items added to your cart, purchase events and order value, cookie and device identifiers, IP address and browser information. When you check out:
• Google may receive your email address and phone number in hashed (encoded) form ("enhanced conversions"). This helps Google measure which ads led to a purchase.
• Meta may receive your contact details in hashed form, sent by Shopify through the Meta Pixel, advanced matching and the Meta Conversions API (a server-to-server connection).
These partners use the information under their own privacy policies, which may include improving their advertising services. Their policies are: Google, https://policies.google.com/privacy; Meta, https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy; OpenAI, https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy. You can also review your advertising settings with Google and Meta.
6. "Sale" of Personal Data and Targeted Advertising
We do not sell personal information for money. However, when you accept advertising cookies, our sharing with advertising partners may be considered a "sale" of personal data, "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under the laws of Connecticut and other U.S. states. In the past 12 months, we have disclosed the following categories of personal information to advertising partners (Google, Meta and OpenAI) for these purposes: identifiers (cookie and device identifiers, IP address, and hashed email address and phone number), internet and browsing activity, and commercial information (products viewed and purchased).
How to opt out. You can opt out of the sale of your personal data and targeted advertising in any of these ways:
• Click Decline, or use Manage preferences, in our cookie banner.
• Use the Your Privacy Choices link at the bottom of every page: https://www.happypawsus.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out
• Turn on the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser. We treat GPC as a valid opt-out request for that browser and device. If we can link the browser to your customer account, we apply the opt-out to your account as well. Learn more at https://globalprivacycontrol.org.
• Email info@happypawsus.com with the subject line "Opt Out."
We do not knowingly sell the personal data of, or use targeted advertising directed at, consumers under 18.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (including Connecticut and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to:
• Access: confirm whether we process your personal data, and access it.
• Correct: correct inaccurate personal data.
• Delete: delete personal data provided by or obtained about you.
• Portability: obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable, readily usable format.
• Opt out: of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
• List of third parties: obtain a list of the third parties to which we have sold your personal data.
• Non-discrimination: we will not deny goods, charge different prices or provide a different level of service because you exercised your rights.
How to make a request. Email info@happypawsus.com with the subject line "Privacy Request," or call +1 (754) 802-5040. We may need to verify your identity, normally by matching information you provide against what we hold (for example, your email address and a recent order). You may use an authorized agent; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization and ask you to confirm your identity directly. We respond within 45 days. If we need more time (up to 45 additional days), we will tell you why. We do not charge for requests unless a request is clearly unfounded, excessive or repetitive.
How to appeal. If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing info@happypawsus.com with the subject line "Privacy Appeal" within a reasonable time after our decision. We will respond in writing within 60 days and explain our decision. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General. Connecticut residents can contact the Connecticut Attorney General's Office at https://portal.ct.gov/AG.
Nevada residents. You may ask us not to sell certain personal information, as "sale" is defined under Nevada law, by emailing info@happypawsus.com. We will record and honor your request.
Email marketing. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email. We may still send messages about your orders or account.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as described in Section 6. We do not respond to other "Do Not Track" browser signals because there is no common standard for them.
9. How Long We Keep Personal Information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Privacy Policy:
• Account, order, agreement and payment records: for as long as needed to complete your order, provide after-sale support (including under our health guarantee), meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations, and resolve any disputes.
• Customer communications: for as long as needed to answer your request and handle any follow-up.
• Email marketing data: until you unsubscribe. We then keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not email you again.
• Fraud-prevention visitor logs: about 2 months. IP addresses and locations added to our blocking rules are kept until removed.
• Cookies and similar technologies: for the periods listed in our Cookie Policy.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including the security measures of our platform and service providers. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Where Information Is Processed
We are based in the United States, and the Services are intended for U.S. residents. Our service providers may process personal information outside your state or country. For example, our fraud-prevention provider hosts data in Canada and uses address geocoding providers in the United States and the European Union.
13. Third-Party Sites and Services
The Services may link to or include third-party services, such as financing, social media and payment services.
Their own privacy policies apply to information you give them.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If we make material changes, we will provide notice on the Services or by email.
